hmm depending on your policy, but the last 2 insurers (RAC & SGIO) I've been with, its been a case of they will pay up, but charge a nice big excess for an unlisted driver.

Yeah, I was thinking that myself

Balsack is right. You will just be hit with an extra say $3-500 unlisted driver excess. I would be chasing him down to pay all ur excess, including the unlisted driver, plus your regular and age excess too, as you wouldn't be paying for this if he hadn't crashed the car.

Its a shit situation, hope all works out well.

Believe me I wasn't composed for a good 12hrs. At this stage the driver has been very co-operative is obviously going to pay all the costs of the insurance (my policy does cover an un-registered driver). If the Val that I'm looking at is the goods (will find out today) and the car is repaired then the buyer is still interested as everything was going smoothly before the crash. If the Val is crap and the car is repaired, I will probably sell anyway, we will just have to cross that bridge when it comes.

I'm gutted because I love both cars and this is a really bad time of my life for this to happen. I'm hoping whatever the case that the car's damage is superficial anyway.

Is the guy who crashed it wanting to buy? Or does he not want it anymore?

Similar thing happened to a friend of mine. She let someone test ride her motorbike when she was selling and she dropped it cracking all the fairings. Made her buy it on the spot.

Yep, I'd say the test driver just bought himself an STI.

Delightful to look at, exquisite to hold but if you break it consider it SOLD!

For 'not thrashing or going very hard' that's a f-load of damage...

I dont think it is. Just the location of the hit has bent the bits.

Why would richochet's friend lie to him about what happened?
