PM's replied but just for those interested, as an indicator Japanparts has a
RRP of $2921.44+ shipping and at a minimum I can provide them for $2541.65
+ shipping but I'm fairly certain I can do alot better than that but they will still
be in the $2k bracket.

That is with nothing on my end at all but I'm happy to help mates where I can.

Just put a tdo5 20g or gt2871r wheel in a vf36 or 37 that will sort out the problem straight away, i have one and will be putting on a 2.5 wrx next week. Nothing wrong with those twin scroll ebay turbos they are the same as gt pumps sells, the problem is the exhaust housing is too big 10cm2, gtps02t dyno sheet was not impressive either and that was on a 2.5, there is a thread on rexnet under gtpumps. I had a conversation with mark from gt pumps on the phone and he said they are designed for track work and high boost applications and on the road the transition to boost is very smooth. Better off sticking with p25 exhaust housing or pe1825 turbo, cant beat ball bearing turbos for spool or off on boost transition

Very good explanation, can the wheel be changed on the VF36 and would gtpumps do/can do that sort of work.

cheers

The eBay seller has got back to me with the following, I sent him the dyno chart, also advised that I was not happy with the results :

"Thank you for your information.

I will contact our supplier “Kinugawa turbo ” to discuss the performance of the turbo.
Please send the turbo I sent back to our rebuild center to double check if it is anything wrong.

I will pay the shipping fee when I receive the return box.

I can offer a brand new TD06SL2-20G or TD06SL2-60-1 turbo for replacement.
TD06SL2 wheel comes with 11 blades lighter wheel to make sure spool very fast.
it was designed to be used on Greddy draft turbo.
So the TD06SL2 turbo can spool faster and get more HP and Torque than the TD05H-20G turbo.

Which one do you need?

The same way is as last time, please send the tracking number when you send it back.
I will ship the new one immediately when receiving your tracking number".

What are peoples thoughts, my view is that a TD06 would be even laggier than the TD05, and it may be another DUD.

Must give them some credit for offering a return and replacement. Pity their customer service is better than their product..

I can't fault their service at all, trouble is removing turbos and getting re-tunes all costs me money.

Easy for 'Kando' to say send it back, but who pays to remove it etc.

I've emailed him saying I want a VF42, and that he'd better find one
