Only way to be sure is look at the casting numbers on the housings, how many factories would be making twin scroll exhaust housings, the tdo5h 20g kando sells is exactly the same as the gtps02, like twin scroll headers all made in the same factory i would say

Bad news for all those chasing a VF42 or have it on their wish list, I have just been notified by 2 suppliers in Japan that Subaru has confirmed that is is no longer in production and all stock has already been sold out!
Sad day indeed!!! So if you see a 2nd hand one anywhere snap it up quick!!!

Being that the VF42 was only on the S203 (555 odd units) and the S204 (607 units) I wouldn't think they would have thousands of these made like with the other mass produced turbo's for other models.
It may be the fact that they are no longer available to the general public and only have a certain amount of stock put aside and only available to the owners of theses vehicles. I know that with the S204 seats, front lip and rear wing you can not buy them unless you can prove ownership of the car so I'd say this would be the same for the VF42, I have MMS and other Subaru supported rally teams looking into this for me aswell but I don't believe the information will change. I think if you also check the Japanparts website the turbo is no longer there after their enquiry and subsequent answer from Subaru Japan.
