I can see the idea behind it, but if it was me looking at the car in a couple of years time to purchase it and I saw a new steering wheel, I'd be asking why & looking for crash damage.

I like the idea of a schmick car and keeping it tidy and what not but at the end of the day, you drive it, there will be wear and tear on everything.

Not having a go at you but that's just the way I see it.

Nice quote,thats very funny

If you enjoy keeping your car in schmick condition and it makes ya feel good then good luck to ya mate. I like to keep my car in as good a condition as I can too so go for it.

Seems that you want the car to be too perfect.

I'm a bit like that (just take a look at my blog to see what extent I go to with my car), but even what you're trying to do is going a bit too far.. you'll always be trying to fix things just because you're not happy with it, and it'll get super frustrating and expensive.

You need to realise that some parts of the car will not be perfect and anyone else would not even look twice at it i.e. steering wheel wear.. my steering wheel has a scratch on it from where my mrs used the car and a ring scratched the leather. Big deal, the steering wheel is there to get used!

aww c'mon lads, its not like he's asking for sti seatcovers/steering wheel cover/ floormats to protect everything for the next owner, doesn't everyone want there car to make them happy and give them some personal satisfaction value? if not... why the fuck is everyone modding/updating bits here and there from newer or limited models

I think its more the fact that the parts being sort are parts that are going to always show signs of use regardless.

But with that being said its hard to say what abnormalities are present without seeing the parts he wants to replace in the first place.
