JDM / Imports / B-reg - Where to buy?
Hey guys,
I have been given the green light by the 'department of finance' to buy myself a track car after my wedding is done and dusted in April. Now I don't have a huge budget, but I know a JDM import can be bought for anywhere between 5 and 7 grand. I want to buy a gc8, something in reasonable condition, doesn't matter if it's got a cage or anything, just want something I can get movement permits for and take out to the skid pan every now and then. I know road registered my98's can be had for about $7k if you find someone who realizes they are 13 year old cars. My question is, apart from my105.com, where else should I look? Please try and keep this on topic. Thanks |

Oh and B-reg cars require you have a CAMS licence (2A or 2B or something???).
Maybe buying an el cheapo wrx or whatever you settle on and just letting it run out of rego might be an idea, spend money on the bits you'll want to put on the new beast? On AL there was a tits red EVOIII faker that would be an absolute weapon on any track and it was advertised at only $8000. Wish I had that money cause it would have been mine the day I saw the ad.....

I dont' want an Evo. WRX/STI/RA only. If I find a cheap road reg'd one, I'd leave it registered, so then I can take it out without movement permit's all the time. But for some reason, people who own WRX's think they don't depreciate.

I sold my GC at 5k less than I paid for it and I had spent about 15k on top of the original price. My poor anoos still stings.

Would prefer a sedan Joe. Thinking something just like that RA phil posted. And Phil, I am on a diet currently. Lost 4kg my first week!

Contact Jon Mortimer or Fats and tell them your budget and what you're after when your ready to buy, then put down a deposit so they can start looking then all you have to do is say yay or nay to the ones they show you.
Easy and painless really.
