Yeah, will end up doing some mods eventually, but not over the top... exhaust, verso, thats the bulk of it....
Find a nice 06/07 with the mods you want done already. Will save a bomb and be better looking.

If its done 10 or 20K with the mods done and hasn't popped it will probably be pretty reliable.

If you do do skid pan days you'll be more inclined to drive an older 30-35K car how you want to drive it than a 70K brand newie that your still totally neurotic about.

MY07 STi = Mid $30k's

MY11 WRX = Low $40k's...

What's $70k?

p.s - MY08/09 STi = Low to Mid $40k's!

Hey buddy,

I used to drive my 06 STI daily...i was warned about the heavy clutch, and harsh ride etc before i got it, but really, it's fine if you are used to sports cars...

Driving my POS bunky into the city to work now but find myself taking the STI more and more...really hard to drive a shitbox when you have something much better sitting at home

my biased view

06/07 STi FTW. MY11 WRX doesn't have brembos, DCCD, 6 speed etc etc..

I may be toying with selling my 07 STi if you're interested mate.

One owner. Its only done 37xxxkms and has the mods you're after. Zorst, tune, CAI etc.

Goes alright too. Will definitely put a smile on your dial. Has a nice ICE setup as well.

PM if you want to.

Cheers
Zombee

Just don't buy a new car.... Unless you are running it through a company or for business use there is no reason to throw $10k + away.

For MY10/11 get a near newie still under factory warranty, and get the owner to get Subaru Aust to verify if any warranty work has been done using the VIN#. (i.e get the client to ask subaru to email them the details and forward it on to you)

The difference in cost of a near new MY11 sedan to a brand new one is bugger all at the moment!... As Kym said, there are hardly any of them on the market yet, and the ones that I've seen have still been just over $40k(and still have to pay stamp duty).. so when a brand new order is around $44k on the road... I don't think you'll be far behind buying brand new, and then you can at least choose colour!
