Most embarasing, but not for me was back in about 82 when I pulled up at the lights next to a couple of bogans driving an old ht/g Kingswood in my R/S 2000 Escort, I had 4 aboard & they start mouthing off about poxy 4 cyl cars, they gun it at the lights and it takes me till second to catch them then start to pass, should have seen the looks on their faces when they saw I was towing my 15 foot fiberglass ski runabout, priceless.

brand new clio sport, he'd been kaning every lights we 'd get too while i was a few cars back. so next lights i thought i'd pull up on him and show him some boxer grunt.
light went green, had him staight off the block was never gonna catch me until i got a little too slack and totally f#*ked my gear change from 2nd to 3rd,CRUNCH, CRUNCH, blew straight past me, he turned off nexts lights probably laughing his ass off.

Was that for real or was there a reason (ie like he hafell asleep at the lights, engine failed, etc??) The old NIKI (2 cylinder 30kw Soviet thing from the 80s which was based on the Fiat 126) used to do it in 21!!!!!

You'd be surprised - i used to have one of those. I did a roll-on start with Denver (MY00) on the freeway from about 100kph ... Denver had a fmic and a few goodies, my car was stock.

Admittedly it wasn't much, but i was gaining a few metres on him every few seconds ... we we both had two on board (me two fatties, him two skinny buggers)

Apart from that, the clio sport was the most fun i've had with my clothes on... i'd buy another one again in 2 seconds.

Only problem with them is that they're like a fat girl that's good in bed - great fun to play with, but you don't want to show your mates.

Just after I had turbo conversion in my pulsar I was on Marmion ave.. just cruising along... had a black 4wd come up beside me and sit dead even,.. kept creeping up..

so I thought Id try show off (being as I was so cool and all haha) ... dropped it back.. put foot down and off I went.

Could not fuckn believe it when this 4wd went flying past me!

Honda MDX.. man these things move ! 2 guys in it were just pissing themselves when we pulled up at the lights lol

My most embarassinng run, was probably 10 odd yrs ago in my first tx3, set of lights on ried highway, mirrabooka set from memory, im waiting, old square nissan vectra/holden astra sedan thing pulls up next to me, pitch black windows, mate next to me <elhornet of pendulum fame no less> has a video camera at the go..

lights change green, i nail it, he nails it, he grabs second and vanishes, we both go, holy shit, get to the next set of lights, i wind down window, he winds down the front, AND rear windows to reveal 4 big guys, easily 70-80kg EACH, and i go "what the fuck is in that thing" they don't answer, they just laugh, and repeat the same performance from the lgiths before...

im guessing it was a very early CA/SR conversion because the thing just honked..

it wasn;'t so much of an embarasment, more a total anililation, one of the very few cars to actually beat the tx3 at the time..
