the hand brake trick is to slow down the car without lighting up ya brake lights

cos if the cops are behind you, they see you brake then they know you're speeding.

On the way back from Northam on Sunday was feeling pretty chuffed cos on the way up I'd left an 06 STI behind about 4 times, anyhoo I get this BA GT Falcon behind me so figure I'll try my luck up hill on one of the long overtaking lanes, first one we come to I hammer it past the slowie in front & the BA is in my dust all the way to the top but trying, next one BA gets a bit smarter & gets a bit of a run up on me but still couldn't pass so we get to the next one near Midland & I figure twice is enough so I take it easy & pull into the left lane about half way up & BA decides to do the fly past, bout a hundred meters after it passes " FLASH " gets done at about 130 in a 90 zone, we caught up over the hill & they were sitting on the exact speed limit, wouldn' even look across as we tooted.

its a common way to piss off people who are tailgating you. if you brake, then obviously instinctively they'll brake straight away too once they see your lights. but if you do the handbrake trick, they'll have to think quicker to realise that you've slowed down (because they dont have the warning of your brake lights lighting up).
