You'll love it, I did the swap into a 98 Liberty and I've done bugger all to mine except intake mods and a Butler exhaust in 6 yrs and still enjoy driving it. Very economical too.

Update,
06/03/12 Rented the car trailer, drove over to KYP and picked up the half-cut and dropped it off to the workshop. Later on that afternoon I dropped the RX off at the workshop, excited knowing that the next time I drive it, it will be much, much nicer! 09/03/12 Dropped into the workshop to take a few pictures of where the car was at, only 2.5 days in... Car in the air on the lift, looking down to the rear, engine bay almost completeley bare & the only piece of driveline in site is the rear diff. Looking up into the engine bay from a few different angles. The next few images are of the engine/front driveline setup out of the STi half-cut. Just waiting to be extensively serviced and then put into the car. I am surprised that in just 2.5 days the guys have already stripped both RX and half-cut of engine/drivetrain! Half-cut front interior has also been stripped. The next step I beleive is to service the new motor replacing timing belt, all filters & fluids, and anything else that is needed. Then it's time to start fitting the STi parts into the RX. That is about it for now, every couple of days i'll head in to get some more photo's of the progress. Hope everyone is finding this interesting. Cheers Josh Last edited by Joshiemitsu; 12-03-2012 at 06:46 PM. |

We are!
The boys at STechnic are very quick because they have mounds of experience. And when they're not drinking beer or talking shit they put in the hard yards!

Looks good so far.
Out of interest, what sort of ball park figures are you looking at to get all this done? |

Halfcut: $2500 GC8 WRX Bonnet: $280 I won't go into specific details about the figure with the workshop, but you would probably be looking around $5-6000 for all servicing, part's needed (exhaust, rear diff, rear brakes, new wheels(to fit 4 pots),etc) and labour. Total approx. $10500-$13500 |

This is gonna be a quick little rig. Should be heaps of fun.
Should keep all of the RX body styling and go full sleeper. I really like the darker grey. |

Yeah I got an invoice, but no warranty- why is that?
I viewed it running, and had it compression tested so I was happy enough with that... |
