As said above, get a work history on whichever car you buy. My bug has 226,000 on the clock and goes well. Regular maintenance is the key. If I hear anything abnormal I get it checked immediately and that's only happened once. Good luck with your purchase.

I used to get that amount when I did a lot of freeway K's. Nowdays, I do lots of short distance driving, which has left me fighting for 400km on my MY00 GC8 (50L'ish tank).

Makes perfect sense though, just wanted to say it!

The answer to your question is Seven.

Mother Simpson: [sings] How many roads must a man walk down / Before you can call him a man...
Homer: Seven.
Lisa: No, dad, it's a rhetorical question.
Homer: OK, eight.
Lisa: Dad, do you even know what "rhetorical" means?
Homer: Do I know what "rhetorical" means?

Cheers for the responses.

so what's the rough cost of a rebuild then?

I'm also much prefer the bug interior (mainly the seats). Do these just bolt into the GC8? I'd be looking at getting both the front and rear replaced.

Cheers
