Declare on the policy that modifications the car has, if they approve them it shouldn't be an issue.
That said, the insurer of my car doesn't requires a list of modifications, they just need a copy of the receipts (if the car is ever in a serious accident) and expect the modifications to meet ADR requirements.

If you have questions over whether or not something is legal/illegal/borderline, then take it to a workshop and ask for their opinion in the matter.

To be sure ring them and disclose all your mods. If you haven't disclosed them and they feel these mods had a bearing on the incident then they have a right to decline due to non-disclosure. You have a duty of disclosure when taking out any insurance policy.

INSURANCE CONTRACTS ACT 1984 - SECT 21

The insured's duty of disclosure

(1) Subject to this Act, an insured has a duty to disclose to the insurer, before the relevant contract of insurance is entered into, every matter that is known to the insured, being a matter that:

(a) the insured knows to be a matter relevant to the decision of the insurer whether to accept the risk and, if so, on what terms; or

(b) a reasonable person in the circumstances could be expected to know to be a matter so relevant.

(2) The duty of disclosure does not require the disclosure of a matter:

(a) that diminishes the risk;

(b) that is of common knowledge;

(c) that the insurer knows or in the ordinary course of the insurer's business as an insurer ought to know; or

(d) as to which compliance with the duty of disclosure is waived by the insurer.

(3) Where a person:

(a) failed to answer; or

(b) gave an obviously incomplete or irrelevant answer to;

Coilovers are nothing new on road cars, nor is it illegal to have adjustable suspension.
My 1980 Porsche has factory coilovers.

When it comes factory standard it does matter, for example most merc amgs come with tint that is illegal by around 10% but because it comes factory standard it's fine

Mercs come with illegal tint? No they don't other wise they wouldn't be sold.

Coilovers are not illegal.

In fact most mods that most people do are not illegal.

Any mod you do can be subject to you getting a yellow sticker. All that means is the cop thinks something is wrong, so they send you to the pits to get it checked. As said this is usually because you fail the attitude test.

On the mercs, glass is physically dark. No film is applied.

No, it would be as long as there was no film and the glass was classed as privacy glass.

Subis have had dark rear windows (privacy glass) as an option (i think) or standard for quite a while.
