2006 STi
Insured with RAC for about 1250/year with the standard 450 excess with no claim bonus protection windscreen and all that crap.
Spoke to RAC about maybe modifying my car a little bit, they said it was ok to do things like sway bars etc, nothing that changes the horsepower rating of the car.

I'll ring them again to ask about a catback see what they say

Just be sure to tell them that it is only a sound enhancement modification and doesn't affect the output rating of the engine.

Rang up and insured my Club spec today.

Setting me back $1000 at normal excess, told them about the turbo back exhaust, they didn't mind. Asked them about future mods, said it needs to be put over the pits after the mods are installed in a proper workshop and following proper WA road traffic law guidelines.

If wondering, still in 20s and still under the age excess limit also. Surprised as to how cheap it was considering my previous car set me back over $2300 annually.

Best company ive dealt with is Shannons Insurance.
They had no issue with all my mods.

$750 a year fully insured.
No Claim Discount 65% (Protected for Life)

$500 excess

Previously used them for my 95 WRX which i wrote off, my fault, they paid
out in 3 days, no questions asked.

Annoyingly Shannon's don't have MY12 WRX listed on their online quote form, or do they not have any WRX listed? (to force you to call?)

$233 a month to insure a car?! That's 10 prostitutes and a bit of coke in a year.
Slap Dash likes this.
