Hot air travels faster, the hotter the air, the better your turbo will spin. I know Wayne is alluding to Ramons idea that you want the metal to cool naturally and that ceramic coating keeps the heat in... but thats exactly what you want. I've gone ceramic coated headers and rear turbo housing, plus a reflective coat on the heat sheild, and i will be getting the dump pipe done one day when i can finally afford a real one. Heat coating the exhaust is banned in F1, that tells me it must be a good thing
pretty hard to go past this reasoning...each to their own i guess.

Could anyone in the know advise whether the WRX 2008 or Sti 2008 TMIC is the same design as the one in my 2008 Liberty?

I had always thought they were different and not interchangeable?

Default Cusco Brake Cylinder Stopper / Support

Thanks to J-Style for the new Cusco gear - all in with the obligatory loss of spacers into the front quarter panel, dropping of bolts and nuts and commando crawls under the vehicle to find

Front M6 bolt required jacking the car up to get some space around the front wheel and suspension to get hands and spanners in there.

Took some time and subtle taps to get it adjusted correctly so that the support bolt lined up correctly with the angle of the brake cylinder. Finger tight ONLY on the support bolt as it's a support / stop not the designed to "push in". Going to recheck in a day or so that everything is where it should be still.

Can you tell? Yea the brake pedal feels less spongy I guess . . . maybe . . . but sure adds to the under bonnet bling.

Talking

I didn't think you actually did any hard braking so you wouldn't feel the difference anyway.

Looks good Andrew, when I got my stock the liberty's main bolt did look super long compared to the GD and GC ones but I was told that's how long they're supposed to be however I still think it looks too long haha.

Anyway Good effort on the install brutha, I'm glad you had fun doing it.

Wayne - I don't have to hard brake as I actually watch the road in front of me unlike some "hoons" LOL

Some more JDM underbonnet bling being a ABS and battery cover, added weight close to nada - coolness factor - priceless.

PS - That's not my engine bay, nor has the car been resprayed black

Thumbs up

Covers smothers would look pron if they were CF

Hahaha nah looks good Andrew, easier to hide the illegal after market modifications and still keep the obligatory "it's a company car and stock standard officer" quote.

CF? You must be confusing me with the other "american" sounding one

I agree Wayne - the covers help keep the "stealth" concept happening. Personally I love the "Euro" styling that it provides to the engine bay. I think even when I put the AOS on it'll look inconspicuous (well compared to the blue Zero Sports oil filler cap).

All in all happy with the bling.

"I'm sorry officer but I wouldn't know what your talking about - I'm a mechanical idiot. It's a company car and I happen to have it on occasion. To the best of my knowledge - it's completely stock"
