Quick update guys,

Got the STi intercooler off gumtree, bought a turbosmart Kompact BPV, and some assorted ducting, y pipes etc.

Had some issues with fuel pumps, put a Walborough 255 l/h in, which subsequently failed (could hear it running but no fuel pressure, checked it's installation which was fine, so not sure what happened there). Ended up putting the stock back in.

Had it go for a dyno sesh at ASG, went pretty well. HP number is pretty good, depending on how much drive losses you account for on the hub dyno. You guys were right, the TD04 can only really pump so much air.

Really happy with the throttle response and torque down low, which is where I enjoy driving it anyway. Not sure if I'd throw a VF34 at it or just go and buy an STi if I really needed anymore go.

Definately need to hit an Autokhana or AHG sesh to see how it fairs. Might keep the crappy tyres on it for now so that I can have a go at kicking the arse out on the track.

I'm just going to DL the new map off it now and have a look at where the big changes are, AFR's aren't hugely different on the street, it's definitely breathing better though (I must learn this tuning sorcery).

Cheers
Egg

How long did your walbro last?
Have an issue with my car and I am thinking it might be the new fuel pump.

About a tank and a half of fuel, it wasn't a pickup problem because I ran it close to the light and didn't have any issues.

Ebay, the supplier had a good rep and really doubt they are knock offs. Don't want to go slandering him just yet until I figure out the issue.

New issue, since getting a Verso tune, I've been unable to put the car into test mode (which is required to download the map off the car), connecting the green connectors doesn't do anything anymore. Searching the net at the moment, anyone had any experience with this?

Probably, possibly, could be locked.

Call ASG and ask them? Why do you want to download the map?

220 ponies at the hubs, not bad considering the losses in an AWD drivetrain, peak torque was just after 3750, so it was never going to pull big numbers with the piddly turbo in there.

Yeh I did, they basically pull the old one off, change a few tables, throw the modified one back on so I doubt there's anything that could've been changed in regards to the test mode on their end. I'll trace the wires and see if its a connection issue (they disappear into a big fat loom, so this'll be fun)

Why do I want to pull the map? Just to have a look what they did, where they put fuel in, out, ditto timing, etc.

I've got all the gear to log, modify and upload maps via the ecuflash and Romraider method. Was going to do that initially, then I thought about the amount of track time I'd need to do before I'd get a tune as good as dyno one. In the future I'd like to log the track day data and tidy up any bits of the map I choose, potentially tidy up the fuel economy on the low load sites. If I ever throw that VF34 in there I'd like to do the tuning myself.

I've a bit of experience tuning N/A motors on Motec, enjoyed it and like to have a crack at a turbo.
