I could be wrong, but won't your current manifold bolt straight up to the 257 heads? Use your manifold and wiring will match.

got stuck into it this weekend...

box is in and has been filled with redline lightweight shockproof oil, front hubs are in with brembos brakes, endless ccrg pads, dba 4000 slotted rotors and hel braided brake lines, also put dynamat around the front speakers, and put on sti diffuser..

Clutch and brakes are bled with castrol response dot 4 fluid, (clutch cylinder has a tiny squeek) but both now have nice pedal feels, going to try and put the car back together over the week when I get time, still need to figure out the dccdpro wiring, but everything else should be straight forward, hopefully!!!

getting excited to drive it soon!!!

I'm a bit stuck with the wiring side of things, the gearbox plugs and the car side plugs do not connect. How do I get around this? Any diagrams etc??

Still haven't worked out the wiring, so reverse lights and speedo aren't working at this stage yet, but I put it all back together as I was super eager to test drive it..

Everything is feeling awesome, except a slight knocking noise when taking my foot off the accelerator.. Pretty sure it's the gearbox mount, as it wasn't looking the best shape when I put it in, will get it checked and get a group N mount if necessary.

Also took it into tint-a-car windows tinted, 20% on the rear window and rear passengers and 35% on the front passenger windows.. Looking really good, should have done it ages ago, hopefully it will stop the leather seats from getting so hot in summer.

Also picked up an 04 sti inlet manifold which will go on with the new motor later.

Changed the vehicle speed sensor to the one from my 5 speed box, and the wiring plugged straight in. Also got my reverse lights and neutral position switch working by swapping over to the wires from the 5 speed box, which also plugged straight in, although I had to extend the wires a little. Also got the dccdpro wired up and working..

I did notice a small bit of gearbox oil coming from where the front axle seals to the gearbox, maybe it is not connected in properly and could be the source of the clunking noise. Will be getting a mechanic mate to look over it this weekend at his workshop.

Getting excited as im almost finished, cant wait to give it a proper drive.. Have to say im quite proud of my efforts on this one!

update. Everything is in and car now drives, has a small gearbox oil leak which should be fixed with an axle seal, I have already been purchased, just need to find time to put it in. Also car is making a small clunking noise when letting off the accelerator, im thinking it is the gearbox mount. Will also check when I get time..

In happier news, this arrived today!! Now to get the kms changed to match my car, and figure out how to wire up the dccd to work on the cluster

changed the axle seal. Car is currently at evo R getting the clunking noise sorted out. Should be ready some time next week, then to get a wheel alignment and happy days. Then to start saving the pennies, plan is to put in the ej257, over my 3 month end of year uni holidays.

So over the xmas holidays I managed to get a bit of work done to the car. Basically I pulled it all apart and installed a few small bits and getting it all cleaned up so everything is up to standard.

- Retrofitted Projector HID kit (stealth install behind the bumper) I am also replacing the projectors with new shrouds without the angel eyes

- Re-stuck down my boot lip, roof spoiler

- Touched up minor curb rash on the rims

- Dynamatted the bootlid and front doors and also fitted new alpine type R splits in the front with custom made spacers

- Swapped over my bonnet and fenders from my other gc8 wrx (same colour) as there was less stone chips on the bonnet, also the old fenders had dents from a bad guard roll job, so the new fenders were professionally rolled

- Got the crack in my front lip fixed and re-plastidipped it in matt black
