Supply your own turbo to save a few $$$ but it's not ridiculous really. You're in very good hands at MMS and the car will be a completely different animal when you get it back.

I made 236hp (176kw) at the wheels with a similar setup using MMS, except mine is a 2litre block, with STi injectors and I have a turbo back exhaust. That is at a very mild tune of 17psi.

With a few extra mods such as a full 3" Turbo back exhaust, larger injectors and maybe a 3 port BCS you'd easily get over 250hp at the wheels.

Agree with the first few posts, how it feels when you drive it will be far better than chasing numbers, and for the record my meager 236hp setup feels fucking awesome! Enjoy it bud!

$1500 for VF34 is a waste of money. A stock TD04 with a tune will get 200-220WHP with instaspool!

For less then $4000 get: BASED ON WHAT I PAID FOR THESE WHEN I HAD MY WRX DONE***

-STI TMIC ($400 - 450)
-Fuel Pump ($150)
-VF34/35 ($450 - 600 from the research I did when I was looking for a VF34/35 P20, didn't end up going VF however)
-STI 565cc ($250 - 300)
-Versa Tune (~$1000)
-Labour ($Varies)

The turbo choice will define the car. If you go with a VFXX you will get (almost) instaspool and a nice car to drive, where as if you chase numbers and get a massive turbo it will lose overall drivability but some argue it will make up for that at the top end

For 220hp - buy a boost controller for 500 dollars, and get a 1k verso. Done.
Was just a quick google, that's eBay (new) price.

Well no need for NEW turbo as you can pick up a solid second-hand unit for a fraction of the price. For $1500.00 you can get a 2nd hand turbo, TMIC and other go-fast bits to support the extra boost.

I spent 4 grand at MMS for a vf34 tune STI injectors fitment for STI top mount & larger scoop 191.9 kw atw = about 257hp. Stock I think the 2005 WRP10 are 141kw atw a big difference than before.
Cheers Steve.

Dan has a point, I picked up my VF34 for less than $700. That said sometimes it's hard to find decent ones and given that they cannot be rebuilt there is a certain element of risk if the previous owner flogged it hard.

Edit: What boost Bullet?

Either boost is wrong or dyno is very gernerous Seems a little high for such low boost, 191KW seems about right for mods however so I am going with incorrect boost.

VF34/35's can be had for a great price but you can always invest in a second hand TD05 16G/18G for about the same price. However most are not Ball Bearing but you can always find a good one if you look long/hard enough.

I made 197kw with a VF30 (same turbo as a 34 bar the ball bearing so a little lagier) @ 1 bar, so 14.7 psi.

2l, fmic, 3 inch zorst, motec.
