Go big or go home - might as well pay the extra and build a better network than rely on already aging technology.

As you can see from the number of signatures on the petition, this is a pretty big issue that the Libs need to deal with. I'm all for saving money, but not at the expense of progress.

IMO it should be done properly:

Only problem with that and any of this is that Australia is already so far behind the majority of the world technology wise, an advance for us is something that's already been achieved elsewhere and is now obsolete, Australia is forever trying to catch up. It's annoying to be honest.

Most of the rest of the world doesn't have to deal with the distances involved here - which is why there will never really be true parity...

plus, look at the costs of server rentals here vs america? no wonder its hard to find decent local BF3 servers.

I missed out on the NBN rollout in my area by about 50m lol
I would now have to wait 1-3 year according to the NBN website... or longer..

Canning Vale not even on the list. Fuck the NBN. People need to get over their self greed already, you can download Game of Thrones fast enough as it is.

95% of australians will never utilize the potential of any fiber network, and nothing in our country is great enough of a data exporter to warrant its installation to every dole-bludgers house at my expense.

Basically, if you want FTTH - Pay for it to be installed.

Play on.

-EDIT- I am fully for it being provided to schools and medical institutions however.
