Im trying.... The car has a 0-100 timer in it. Factory reckons 5.4. Best so far is 5.85 but that is with tc off and plumes of smoke out the back....
I will beat it... Challenged accepted... Brendon

Jamie, i spoke to greg burrowes and he said all they wanted to look at was injector size.
If anyone remembers 2009 and tony quinns son's evo 9 no doubt tony will get around it but i dot know what will happen with peter. This was also a bold move by the officials as targa west found out when they excluded tony quinn's gtr in 09. Big supporter of the event that has never been back. I think it was a corrct and bold move by ocagon but it will be very interesting to see what the long term repercussions are. Especially as this is the first year that octagon have run adelaide with modern cars. I dont think a legal evo or sti can get near white in his lambo and it would take massive commitment in a gtr to get near the lambo. No disrepect but i am not sure pete or tony are good enough to get there in a legal gtr. What it looks like it will mean on the surface is that it will just be a procession for white at a canter. So long as he does not blow anything up or crash he will win at 80% pace. I know richards is going to build one of the new caymans when they lob for the new super showroom class. Quinn was talking about building a m3 or a c63 so maybe this will make hos decision easier. My 2c... Brendon

It's an interesting debate Brendon, do you turn a blind eye to the various cars that are outside the rules one way or another so as not to offend them and risk them not competing.....OR....do you rigidly enforce all the rules so the rest of the field who do play by the rules don't feel they are being disadvantaged?
Another thing you people say is "I'm not going to win so I may as well have..........etc" But it makes it hard for the spectator to understand why one car has to be standard yet another has a dogbox and front mount intercooler etc? |

Agreed doug and it is a debate i have had myself. Realistically i will not finish in the top 3 so should i put a set of cams in and get 20 kw's for not a lot of money. I have decided against it incase i ever get the car running properly and then i can judge myself against those other legal cars like stewie liddles.
There were 2 guys in tassie this year with evos that were stroke tested and caught with strokers. They were nowhere overall so all they did was creat a new class for them. Not kicked out, not your a cheater. The problem os if you allow quinn / rullo et al to run injectors here, cams there how do they stop white doing the same thing. The thing that annoys me is we have homologation papers for the sti's / evo's that says cams must be this lift, this duration etc. Now i have no idea whether white / quinn / rullo are cheting but if the scrutineer measured the cams how the hell would he know whether they were legit? Could you imagine trying to get accurate lift / duration info out of italy. At the presentation dinner at tas this year i sat next to a guy that owns a company that grinds their own cams. I asked him how hard it would be to grind a set of cams for me but put he factpry markings on them. Not an issue and certainly would not be the first time. Its a difficult call and my gut feel is that all the cars have to be legal. There are two many classes at the moment though so the last thing we need is more classes. I had heard a rumour that quinn has ordered a gt3 spec gtr but given that heowns the gt championship i would imagine it is for that and not for targa. Pete also told me about a new toy he wants to bring to tassie next year. If he can pull that off then high 5 to him! The difference between a properly built showroom car and mine is very little. Showroom can run reiger suspension. About the only difference is pump fuel and brakes. Imho the difference needs to be bigger. Brendon
