Hey guys

I was talking with russgt last week when I went to go and grab a fire extinguisher, and he told me all about this event, and to be honest I'm pretty keen to get involved as he made it sound awesome!!

Iv joined wrx owners club of wa and will be applying for my cams licence this week, dose anyone know how long it actually takes to be processed? And is it to late to participate this season?

As I'm a newbie to all this any information/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Sean

CAMS licences take about 2 weeks, and it's 4 weeks till the next event so you'll be sweet.

You can compete in as many or few of the Sprint Series rounds as you like –*just enter each one individually. It's too late if you want to compete in ALL of the rounds in the Sprint Series though as of course they've had one round already. However most people can't make all rounds anyway, so if one was to compete in the rest they may find themselves in a good Class position come the end of the season.

Great news Sean! You will love it! Great bunch of guys go down to these events. Im sure they will love to give you some pointers, help with recommended "hot" tyre pressures etc.

Just introduce yourself to them on the day and say you would love some help or advice.

Nick73 comes down to the races from up noth of the river. He will be happy to meet up i would imagine. Maybe PM him.

I think you want level 2s. Just check these regs. http://rac.com.au/cs/groups/public_p...900.1425888565

I have to admit i couldnt see what one you need but pretty sure its L2S.

You just make sure nothing is loose in the car and have a full tank of fuel. You will be in class D.

Wish i was still doing it...

Just don't say that RussGT sent you, Sean, as most people will ignore you after that

L2S covers most of the track work you're likely to do - even Targa. If you ever need any other kind of licence, you'll know about it (think proper door-to-door racing at Barbagallo etc)

Yes I do come down from South Geraldton occasionally to race. That's about the furthest my betty travels these days...

Sean, get yourself booked in for the race next month and arrive one hour before start time. I can meet you somewhere along the way if you can't read a road map. If you are doing the AM session like me I will give you a shove in the right direction mate, no dramas.

Make sure your tyres and brakes are up to it, it's a surprisingly hard track on both if you are having a go.

If in doubt about anything ring Mc's they are always very helpful.

Cheers.

Yep. National Rally for Targa events and National Circuit for anything door to door.
