ditto, very nicely close-decked 2.5 simon, well built for its time.
mind you, 2L heads over a 2.5L motor- theres a lot of head overlap on the dome over the bore, kind of explains the average performance of a lot of the 2.5 builds getting around the place.

From my knowledge of V8's ...having bigger bore helps get the most out of the flow of a set of heads. So having bigger bore to get 2.5L is better than having bigger stroke with standard bore.

There is more room around the valves for air to move if the bore is bigger. On LS1 v8's the big bore cars make more top end hp than cars of equal capacity but using stroker cranks. They do make less torque though.

I hear what your saying about head overlap not being ideal... but at least it maximises the power I do get from the small 2L heads because the valves are less shrouded.

I will put a viewing jar next to the motor. Please place $1 in it to help with the build.

add my $1 for the camera

Can't tell from those great photo's if the block is sleeved? If your talking to PMS find out the full spec on the internals. Considering the life it has suffered it's all credit to the builder and components!

So Simon, here's a to do list: Find out what bearings, pistons, rods, sleeved/not sleeved...and then buy a DSLR ffs

Can't imagine what your family photo album looks like

Perfourmance got back to me so I should know what sort of head studs they are soon. Good customer service considering it was in 2002 that it was bought and not even by me!

Has either ROSS or CP forged pistons and cunningham rods.
