You might find the 2 pots you have is bigger than the pre MY98 2 pot ones and the rotors maybe bigger as well, similar to the Forester XT ones
I suggest a master brake cylinder stopper mod done as well to help with the braking as well. |

I can pretty much assure you the OEM brembos won't fit under the stock rims, they are a fat chunky caliper. Aftermarket solutions like the Brembo, AP, Alcon, Stoptech, ProjectMu etc will be a thinner caliper and perform better, but may still require a different offset rim. But, I'm pretty sure the 08 WRX discs are 330mm compared to the normal 290mm discs for the 98-07 4 pot calipers. they have a much bigger swept area (the same size as the OEM Brembos) so upgrading the pads & discs should give you the performance gain you are looking for. as for the looks? I guess you could paint the calipers after all that, i'm not sure of the legalities of "down grading" your braking system.

Yeah, i have .. There was/is a yellow WRX in perth that has 6piston rotora brakes at the front and they looked sick.
Have a look at the website. The car featured in fast fours, i have it here .. The same one as below

odd, i thought the brakes were bigger :/
in that case, a set of 4pots should bolt straight up. *might* have an issue with wheel clearance but i shouldn't think so. does anyone know what offset the stock 08 rims are?

http://www.endless-sport.com.au/eRace_typer.htm Although my old MY99 had the 4 pots, I only upgraded the rotors and pads (Endless) and fresh dot 4 fluid and the braking was simply awesome which never faded no matter how hard I pushed them....however pads & rotors wore at the same rate and were basically both good for the bin when the pads had worn out. Soooo.....with the complete combo of BMCS, slotted rotors, quality pads, Dot 5 fluid and braided lines in your 08...i'm sure you will be well pleased..... If the visual look of the 4 pots is what your after then check these out: https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...roducts_id=914 Bargain!!!!! Works out to roughly $570 + freight and the best thing is there's not duty as they're under $1k. Last edited by BXT; 17-02-2008 at 10:07 PM. |

Despite the look the MY08 brakes are meant to outperform the old 4 pots.
Personally I wouldn't bother upgrading to Brembos or something else until you need more braking. Change to some good pads, good rotors, new brake fluid and it will be a different machine.
