Bumping this up again...

For those people with adjustable suspension do you have any changes in hardness from front to rear for street or track?

i.e. soft front, hard rear vice versa

Or keep it the same for all?

If you change it any info on hardness (soft, medium, hard, boneshaking) is appreciated.

You've really got to experiment since all driving styles, suspension types and car setups are different. Start with slightly harder at the rear.

Cheers.

I've always kept it the same all around the car, but was thinking of experimenting with the harder rear.

Guess I didn't want to waste time making the rear harder if the goal is to make the front harder.

Softer rear in my experience John. But I am sure everybody is different in setup styles, driveline, tyres etc.

Just got a few more suspension bits added - Whiteline anti-lift kit and roll-centre kit. For the relatively low cost I'm rather happy with these items. It's made the car handle better at a low ride height and couples the Buddy Club coilovers and STi strut brace nicely. It's gotten rid of the body roll and front lift. Haven't had the chance to test it out in its entiry but at moderate speed around 90deg corners and round-abouts it enters and exits alot better, fells more stable. I've only got to play with my dampener settings front and rear now but am currently running softer settings at the rear compared to front.

I second harder rear setup for GD's - used to run 2 clicks higher in the rear with G4's on 02 STI together with all other braces and suspension bits. worked pretty well.

By softening the damping you are effectively adding grip and by hardening you are reducing the grip. Therefore if you are tending towards understeer soften off the front damping.

This is a very simple description and is dependant on many different variables Eg rake in the car, sway bars etc. Best way to find out is get on the skid pan and try fullsoft front and rear, then fully hard F&R, then alternate between between hard and soft F&R. Youo'll then get an understanding of what the adjustors do. Once you have that level of understanding you can begin tailoring to suit you.

On the 04 I ran the G4s at 13 rear and 10 front most of the time. When I fitted the larger rear bar and RCK I changed to 12 rear 11 front.

Trust thsi helps.

Danny
