With the price rise in Ferodos... Pagid Blues are always worth looking at as well, and much kinder on your rotors than DS series.

Squeak city = motorsport grade pads unfortunately

Little bit off topic, but since you mentioned water cooled brakes (which is a interesting topic i have had a brief look into), water cooled as in water circulating the calipers (have not heard of this) or water cooled as in a fine mist of water spray, similar to I/C water spray, is released into the air ducts leading to the braking system.

While this can work really effectively, it's crucial that the mist is precise and even so it doesn't lead to hotspots/cracking etc.

I just picked up some Ferodo 2000s for my car, excellent street pad....about half the price of the 2500s too!

Joe, the 2000's are the same as the Formula, yeah? And they are a great street pad!

i bet the ds3000's are used in the handbrakes of some cars :P I dunno, after my recent pad upgrade i've had a bit of an epiphany on pads. the WRC ones actually pump water through the caliper, there is 2 extra banjo's on them. If you watch truck racing in Australia some of the top trucks use the other method, just like an intercooler spray. but they run drum brakes o_0

Truck racing brakes = win.

2500's nice street pad.
3000's better street/race pad (bit more squeak).
Pagid Blacks = win pad (but squeak like farrk).

Anything less than a 2500 is quite gay imo.

but that really does depends on what you do with the car. its fine for us to sit up here on our high horse and say xxx pad is shit, but for someone like rich for arguments sake who only drives to work, never does a track day and doesn't "deliver pizzas" in mundaring a pad like a 2500 is probably better than he'll ever need. then we go to the other extreme with some like joe who has a daily drive and his car is a track whore, does laps at wanneroo and collie etc, a 2500 will be as good as 4 slabs of pine

Yes i know. I am going to try to brake a little earlier this year, dont know if that will change anything. I also change my pads when they get down to about 3mm, so i think i will start wearing them a little thinner too. Mayby it is because of the different pad/rotor size of my car vs yours?

Did you say Joe or Joel???

Good call though. And Joe (BALISTIC) has demonstrated this pretty well... 2000's are a great purchase for heavy street use/ drags/ perhaps even light track application/ attending the occasional tuning arvo at AHG...

Do you have ducting to your brakes?

Check the old 'Collie raceday' thread from like 2 years ago(?)... there was a ton of pics posted up after that day demonstrating all kinds of brake 'nightmares' (wear & tear etc). At the time I was running similar setups to most, but due to ducting had much better outcomes- only had to rub back a bit of glazing, but that happens.
