My mum still needs to go shopping in this car.

In a V8 40k$ after car cost would see nearly 1000hp ! or even over 1000hp, i didnt relise these were so expensive, hence why i said alot of times in this thread im trying to find out what i should do and il go with best bang for buck, and im asking on here coz i dont know these cars, i thought it would be similiar to what im used to Ford I6 and V8 where 10k$ would see a double in power and a 2-3 second drop on 1/4mile times......
Its not so much hard to get good times out of a WRX/STi compared to a V8 boat... Its more that the car is not designed to be fast in a straight line, things can be expensive when your trying to pull big HP out of a motor less than half the size of most V8's...
Bang for buck, the WRX/STi's will be faster than most V8's until a point, its just a bit before aiming for 10 second times...

Buy yourself a lightweight GC8 (94-00 model WRX/STi) and its a different kettle of fish again...

I think you need to spend a few hours reading some of the thousands of threads on here that go into great detail about other owners builds, before you even start thinking about what you want to do to this car that your "going" to buy!

Give them a call and ask them. Last I heard it ran a 10.93 and not a blow off valve, intercooler or N2O bottle in sight.

Why don't you believe that but you believe you are going to build an 11 sec WRX? You make Poly Pipe, not drive shafts and gear tetth!!! If you did I'd say carry on because you're gonna go through a few of them LOL

Sorry for being an angry prick

this thread is a funny read. any ways without commenting on any of the b.s. if you're serious about a stroker kit, look to somewhere that has done it all before... america. for starters have a look at
http://www.briancrower.com/makes/subaru/ej257.shtml

a short spiel from the site

Quote:
The BC stroker kit for the Subaru EJ25 engine utilizes a custom, 83mm monster stroke, steel billet crankshaft, not a reworked factory EJ25 crank. Depending on bore size that you decide, the BC kit will take you up to a 2.71L with a safe 102mm bore. As usual, each BC kit features custom CP forged aluminum pistons, premium alloy wrist pins, full ring pack and buttons. Big time power and torque gains. BC Econo rods rated to 600 horsepower, BC Pro Series rods rated to 800+ horsepower.
i gotta admit, if i had the money after i bought my pignose, i'd look further into stroker kits. but i dont

i gotta admit, if i had the money after i bought my pignose, i'd look further into stroker kits. but i dont

The cranks arent the weakest point its the weak liners of the bores.. thats why any car chasing big HP gets them sleeved...

A larger displacement also makes the stroke ratio too square, and this limits how far u can actually rev the engine (hope i got the lingo right)..
