a 207 block with forged pistons is an option. when mine blew up, the way i went was the cheapest at 4000. 207 road cost 6000-8000 when done properly

Hey Just an Idea . I was informed that it is easier to buy a new bottom end from subaru. ej 207 and put ur heads if they are all good.. the complete cost is about 4400 with a new oil pump. but its about $2600 for the bottom end.. its easy and cost effective. other wise u are looking at 6 000 plus for an ej 20 to be rebuilt. i hope i have helped .. enjoy

They had EJ207 Short motors on ebay for 2000+200 for delivery. I was in the same boat as you and i managed to pick up a V6 Jap Spec STI Engine with 90,000 kms on it for $2,000. That was an absolute bargain, these engines go for $4000 everywhere else. My friend got his rebuilt with forged internals and he spent $7000. Gives you an idea of what these things cost. I saved money on my engine so i'm kitting it out before i install it. Intake, up pipe, Y pipe ect.. Good Luck!!!
