ok I think now if i change plugs to brand new 7g (STI) plugs that I will at least eliminate them as a cause.
I will re iterate that the car runs really well except for this misfire that occurs only after the car has been at operating temp for about 20 mins plus - not before. I am guessing the logic to changing plugs is that they are a colder heat range and will operate better with this sort of driving and low boost scenarios. Also now that i have to basically order these plugs, i was thinking about ordering them in the particular gap size to run decent boost - 1.2 bar or so. This would be a gap of .6mm? cheers |

they come pre-gapped @ .8 mm....fine for 1.45 bar (in my 2000 v6 sti) with no misfire.
I'm running PFR6B's, stock gaps = no probs. It won't be a plug issue anyway as the car runs fine on boost (where the ignition system is under the most load). Who's doing the tune? How is it being done? (datalogit or through the commander) Sounds like a lean misfire @ the cruise map points or acceleration enrichment is insufficient. Richen up the acceleration rpm points at or around when the hesitation occurs and see if that helps.
