Sard FPR Question
Hey all, I have a question regarding the Sard FPR.
Long story is, paid a workshop to do some work and a Sard FPR was part of the deal. Basically, workshop outsourced stuff they couldn't do (at my additional expense) and due to the complete **** around (3 months of it), I ended up picking my car up and finishing it myself. Once the car was running, a fuel pressure gauge was connected to adjust the Sard FPR. Now the reading was actually pulsating. It was spiking rapidly between 0 & ~42psi. Now I wasn't sure if this was normal or not so did some more research and confirmed it certainly wasn't. I took it back and asked for it to be fixed and $550 later, it was. (FPR was replaced). I was told that because 'he' couldn't finish the work, he wasn't able to monitor the vitals on first crank (not a rebuild, a transplant) and that I'd damaged the FPR. I refuse to accept this and am fighting the invoice. Either an FPR will work or it won't. I can't see how anything I've done has caused this. I am certain it was not installed correctly (inlet and outlet connected the wrong way round) as the fuel pump did not sound happy. Meanwhile the dodgy 'subaru specialist' has probably re-used it on another vehicle. I'm not able to find a manual for the Sard FPR so need some expertise to confirm my suspicions. Thanks in advance!
