Default Clutch Shudder

Hey all,

Story goes.

Currently running in my car. Gertrude (my gc8) is on about .7bar and pumping out some awesome amount of HP (130 or something lol). Now my question is, what would cause my clutch to shudder? I have not been dishing abuse to it because im running it in (just loading the engine up with hills, high gears etc etc). I took 4 mates to freo on friday night and it begun to shudder near the end of the trip, as if it was struggling having 5 people in the car.

Its an RMS build HD organic (i think thats what it is) and has maybe the best part of 5,000kms on her as it had to get replaced cause it slipped after 1 hard launch before the run in. If i slip the clutch a little it seems to take the shudder away for a while.

Spose the question is, why would it shudder? Is it a tell tail sign of a stuffed clutch again?

Thanks,

Eric

Hey mate,

When i was carrying four people in my car, including me, the clutch would shudder on take offs. This was a factory clutch though, i dont remember if it did it with the heavy duty one it had.

Although now come to think of it it could have been the top mount hitting the firewall (02stiTMIC) But im definatly sure the clutch did shudder at a point in its life but only when i had alot of wieght in the car.

Oh, and it could be a telltale sign or a stuffed clutch. Because my HD clutch was shuddering really bad one morning on the way to collie and it went that afternoon changing off boost. It copped a little bit though.

Id be devo if it was the clutch on the way out. I stuffed my original one, got it replaced for 1k or there abouts with this one and then that was smoked within a month or 2 and i hardly launch my car at all. I think i did it once and it fried itself straight away. Since then its seen 1 track day at collie and a bit more putting around at the max!

Must be me and clutches that dont sit well with each other hahahaha!
