Default rattle sound WHERE IS IT!!

orrrrite i have an issue thats been bugging me for a while now

i have this friggen rattle SOMEWHERE which only pops up at idle (around 800-900 rpm) after driving a bit...BUT if i up the revs to a grand it dissapears, it also dissapears after about a minute of idle. now im assuming the worst so i try to drive as much a granny as i possibly can, if not i try to just not drive at all

could it be something as simple as the cat rattling a bit after a bit of spirited driving (had a bit of heat and exaust pops go through it) or does it sound like something internal?

ive been thinkin of calling Sik 'em Wrex racing in mandurah to book her in for my front susp' would it be worth asking them to find the said problem?

Cheers ppl, Nathan

look around for loose heat shields on the exhaust system and exhaust manifold.

Hmmmm could the thermos be making something close by rattle when they come on? Seems like they would come on at idle after a minute or so and after a short drive. Also revving it would proberly just make noise over the rattle which would 'appear' to go away.

Release bearing? does it go away when you put your foot on the clutch?

Running a Bosch fuel pump? mine used to make a weird rattle sound just behind me in certain conditions, sounded like a hand brake line rattling.

pretty sure im runnin a walbro fuel pump. Didnt get a good chance to look closely over it today, definitly not clutch or release bearing. Its very strange. That thermo idea sounds close as it comes and goes...cheers for the thoughts so far, ill see how i go

I have a similar rattle with mine, and it seems to be a heat shield rattling too. And funnily enough, it only happens when idling and goes away if you rev above 1000.
