Default Car wont start

Hi All,

Every now and again my car wont start and now it has been happening more and more often. It used to be only when it was hot, I would leave it for an hour and it would start.

What happens:
  1. Turn the key
  2. immobiliser unlocks car
  3. fuelpump primes
  4. turn the key to crank
  5. fail

At that fail point the car doesnt crank but the fuel pump comes to life.

A couple times i have hit the key barrel and tried again and it started, but this morning it wouldnt do a thing again.

Any ideas?

So its not cranking?
Starter motor perhaps.
If you think it is to do with the ignition barrel I have my old 96 GX barrel here that you are welcome to try out.

Bushing in the starter motor might need replacing.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I checked all the wires to the starter motor and all the grounding points around it and it all seems to be wired up fine.

Cool beans, might have to hit you up Corrie!

Hit starter solenoid with a hammer or something equally as solid.
