I bought a pair of the genuine STI intercooler spray nozzles at $45 each from MRT, as everyone says they give the best spray pattern and atomisation blah blah. after spraying water through them I would suggest that 50c retic nozzles from bunnings would probably work just as well.

QFT

Actually best ones I found were the $3 fog/mist spray jets which I picked up from the reticulation place in Morley next to Autopro and Repco. They produce an ultra-fine fog of water that doesn't tend to bead as easily as the spray jets do.

After buying 2 of the genuine STI nozzles for ~$40 each and a genuine I/C waterspray switch for ~$70 from Subaru in Osborne Park it left me feeling I was somehow raped without the sex

Surely you could have seen that without shelling out $90!

$2.50 for a packet from bunnings is what i used. The brass super atomiser ones are aparently the absolute best though. But meh.

so consensus is give it a go haha -.

the old wagon benefited greatly from water spray on the tmic, at the time I had an intake temp gauge and did see measurable drops whilst moving on boost - i think i will be surprised if I see 1 or 2 degree drops on the new cars' factory fmic.

i can tell absolutely no difference from mine at all. Made a big difference when i had a tmic but now its fmic, it doesnt seem to drop the temps much, could be because I'm using the window wiper tank which is in the engine bay and the spray only hits a little bit of the intercooler.
