just checked the oil it's fine

yeah as far as i know a TBE is generally fine without a tune, but once you put an atmo BOV on, the fuel economy starts to suffer a bit.

not as much as mine clearly

not really no, what are you suggesting?

the car drives and starts fine, no backfire or smell out of the exhaust no black smoke.

O2 sensor dying is the most plausible explanation atm.

Is it even possible for a EJ20 to use 50 odd litres in 60km's????
Surley it would barely run with that much fuel going throuh it.
I would very much like to know what could cause this.
That has to be the worst economy ever.

I cant see how a car can use 1L of fuel for every 1km of driving.

Your tank should be 60L so your car is drinking like there is no tomorrow.

Maybe your fuel gauge is giving you false readings and your not really empty when its says you are.

If your engine is relatively cold the oil may look fine but will certainly smell odd.
I have tested oils for fuel containation that "looked" fine but smelt odd and when tested were over 2% fuel.
The fumes when the car is running would be pretty bad.

no serious driving lengths.

could it be injectors?

Your Rear bumper would be black with soot and inside the rear muffler would be wet with fuel constantly if it were trying to run that rich.

I seriously doubt it would run at all if it were using 1 L per KM.

I'd suggest you have a fuel leak or someone's draining it.

It could be a stuck injector, but it would drive like shit.... How does it drive? is it making any power?

I'm saying that if you're using 1L per 1km, its gonna be running so rich that your oil would be contaminated with fuel. You'd definitely smell it!
