Just had my 1.5yr/37500km service yesterday at subaru for $450. Fairly expensive. However i think their service department had a major overhaul in terms of customer service compared to my previous experiences. Car felt good after, car vacuumed for the first time and actually had a call from them today rating their service. Imo the $450 felt a little more justified this time around. Sorry about my pointless rambling, just thought i might share my experience.Anyone know the average price for my service?

Castrol edge sport 0W/40 is the oil being used for my minor service in pretty sure it's one of better oils.. And I had a look at my logbook from the previous owner I was charged 310 for my 25000km service and bit more for the 37500 and that was done by Subaru Vic park.

Whilst you don't have to, getting serviced at a dealer makes any warranty claims easier. Although you do pay the tax for it.

Otherwise, check that all the workshops are quoting for the same work and pick the cheapest/one that gives you the best feeling all will be done correctly.

Any of the Subaru workshops in the workshop sticky thread will do a good job.
The car was bought 2nd hand and had the 3 month warranty, but that over. I didn't opt for the 3 year warranty cause if anything went wrong the car had to go to a authorised AHG dealedship and I don't have one of those in Carnarvon.

Race Torque gave me the cheapest quote of $550 using Castrol synthetic oils and genuine Subaru oil filter. While Subaru Osbourne park quoted me $663. Has anyone had their car serviced by Race Torque and how did it turn out?

Got my 50k service done by Blue Star last week. He does an awesome job every time and his prices are competetive. He only uses genuine fluids too.

Generally speaking, non turbo gets spark plugs at 50,000. Turbo gets spark plugs at 100,000.
Subaru have changed some of the intervals on the newer models. 100,000 used to be the big one with all fluids, plugs and timing belt, now they have staggered some of the items either side of the 100k service to spread the cost out. There's a schedule in your owner's manual that outlines what is due at the particular interval, they can be difficult to follow sometimes though.
