Car won't start. Can't hear Fuel Pump Priming
Hi Guys,
I just got in my car to leave work and my Car won't start. I had a quick search but couldn't find anything exactly like my issue. Closest i found was this http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...ight=fuel+pump but I can't hear my Fuel Pump priming where as in her situation it was. I had a look in both fuse boxes (dash & engine bay) but can't find a fuel pump fuse. Is there one???????? Could it just be because it has been in the hot sun all day?????? I've never had this issue before. My car is MY03 WRX. Mild mods (inc. aftermarket in tank fuel pump) with Verso Tune. Please help Last edited by djzen; 03-11-2010 at 06:58 PM. |

Thought the exact same thing, my guess with the little knowledge and info you have given us is to check the brant.

Sorry,
More info... Yes, It's the standard 'Brant' alarm system. Extra info to the Original Post... Power wise, I have power. After putting in my code, I do get the "Go Ahead" Engine Light. The Starter Motor cranks over, Just no Start. |

a friend of mine had the same problem from the sounds of it, she took it to a couple of mechs, 1 including a subaru dealer, and they couldnt find what it was, and she finally took it to a dodge mech or something and all they did was bypassed that keypad and hasnt had a problem since.
dont if that'll help but goodluck mate.

The heat has been known to cause the Brant (esp. the keypad) to act up...but i'm no auto electrician

Thought it might be the heat. Will go try the car again now after ive had the windows open for a while.
On one of my other thoughts, is there a fuse for the fuel pump???? |

And the winner is : --

After leaving the doors open to try and get the heat out of the car, I eventually got the fuel pump to prime. Started as per normal. If that is going to happen every time we have a hot day this summer, I may end up getting rid of the brant. Either that, or open up the sun roof a half hour before I know I'm leaving work. |

i would take it to an auto electrician, have them remove the immobilizer and install an aftermarket system

Though my main concern right now is just getting home after a long days work. Last edited by djzen; 03-11-2010 at 07:27 PM. |
