Anyone think it could be this?

It's never happened before either so I don't think it's a keypad/immobiliser issue.
Take it to a mechanic......

could the battery affect the Brant??
I considered this as an option until I have now started smelling burning wire smell and the 50million times I have to turn the key back and forward before the shit will start, also including the 10 minutes of turning the key stuck in subi right infront of the fkn pub, and when an evo pulled up along side of me

Absolutely KB! The battery is what causes the most issues with the Brant!... Recharge or replace it and you'll probably eliminate the problem(for a time).

Doubt it will be a coilpack issue, as that would likely cause it to misfire while driving as well as on startup?

The Brant demands a fairly large amount of voltage so as soon as your battery starts thinking about dying, or is low on charge, it starts playing up!

I know what it is. The burning smell is the Brant Control box under your dash. It's your Brant alarm. I've had this exact same issue. The smell will be related to a burned out resistor.
