Default How much does a rear diff cost in Perth?

Hi,

I have a 2002 Subaru Liberty RX which may need a rear diff replacement.

Just wondering how much this would cost?

Could the rear diff cause the car to feel as if it were rear ended when accelerating/decelerating?

Can go anywhere between 150 to 300, depending on wreckers, mood of the wreckers, moon alignment

Yeah, open centre about $150, Viscous LSD up to $350-$400. Clutch plate LSD $600+

It's very rare for the rear diff to fail (except 4.44 R160's)
If it has failed, I more than likely have the right one to suit.

Viscous is all you need, that's all 95% of pre 6 speed WRX's have.

Get someone to diagnose if the rear diff is in fact faulty first. Then work out what ratio it is. I have a rack full of diffs so more than likely will have one to suit.
Auto and manual are different, dual range and single range are different, turbo and non turbo are different........ 9493 5559 if you need help.

Is it auto? The issue may be in the transfer clutch. Does it feel like its binding when turning in a tight corner at low speed?

Car is goin in for check-in at ASG tm.

Its a manual, the car will jerk back n forth when accelerating or decelerating.

Funny thing is, RMS or MMS couldnt determine wat the problem is. ASG mechanic kinda knew wat it was instantly. Said it's either engine/tranny mounts or the rear diff.

Got a set of mounts coz I thought that'll b the problem. Turns out its more likely the rear diff.
