Cheers for the clarification Kato.

Did you have a butler built TBE on your MY05? Anyone have any idea on the cost to switch from a butler muffler to a Varex? Will it be as simple as bolting on the X-Force muffler or not?

Also what are the main differences between getting a twin tip, oval or cannon muffler? What are the advantages of each?

cheers

Sound is one thing. Flow is another.

[REXXXED] has a twin-tip. [Fobz] has cannon. Both are GC8. Both sound quite different.
You'd think a twin-tip would be slightly restrictive over a cannon. That could be something. But without an engine making 'real' power, I'd say the difference is negligible and un-noticable.

Nah I had an Xforce TBE.

Changing the muffler section to a varex muffler was around $400-500 iirc.

It's just a muffler, just like swapping a HKS to a Trust etc, so any exhaust shop could put one on.

At the moment I've got an MRT 3" tbe exhaust with an oval muffle and I kind of want a canon muffler for that deep rumble, is it as simple as buying a new muffler and installing as long as it has a 3" inlet?

I see the Xforce Varex Muffler is around $400 - $500 inc installation. Do MMS or Norm Butler make varex mufflers? Or do they just make normal Canon/Oval type mufflers?

I am quite keen on a varex muffler as I know I will get sick of the loudness of a Canon while coming and going from home if I do go ahead and buy a canon.

the varex muffler is made by xforce, they make a few sizes and varieties, all that needs done is fitment to your existing 3" exhaust with your choice of dump pipe!

XFORCE VAREX MUFFLER REMOTE SOUND CONTROL - WRX - EVO | eBay

$380 delivered, should be very cheap to be fitted by exhaust shop, + do the wiring yourself/swap a 6 pack with a sparkey, ..... = WIN!

As Boxor said, great for stealth, late nights coming home not wanting to wake up everyone....

Good Luck
