Appears that the genuine Subaru part accepts a 1/8th BSP thread.

Are Subaru sensors NPT or BSP?

Can you get 1/8 BSP senders, are only the gauage "copies" NPT.

I've made up an adaptor to temporarily fit both the copy oil temp and oil pressure senders into the Subaru. This is not the prettiest solution, and have yet to trial fit it.

At this stage, I want to keep the Subaru oil pressure switch as a back up, even though by the time it lights up it may have already been too late for the motor, and I would still need some adaptor for the oil temp in Rosscos' photos above.

Fitting an oil pressure gauge in a few weeks.

Just a quick question.. I'm tempted to go with the direct connection approach as stated above vs the plate design but I'm a little confused.

The above pictures show two positions for oil monitoring, it also says that you can remove the factory Subaru sensor, now can I remove that sensor and have no warning lights come up or by removing the factory sensor will I get a warning light?

Cheers!!

Unplugging the factory switch will mean the oil warning light stays off.
