The power cuts because the ECU cuts fuel to stop the engine revving. Have you owned a car before? Like said above, why do you think there is a red line on the tachometer? Just because Subaru likes to put as much red on their dashes as possible?
Maybe sell up and buy a Commodore.

You can bounce off the limiter once of twice after that the ecu will cut fuel for few sec before you can start revving again

tho mates with SR and RB engines does it all day long lololol
