only thing you can do is book it in and get them to look at it, and see if they will put in a good will request for you, sometimes subaru come back and say they will go halves in the job, or halves in labour and they will pay for parts.
but theres no harm in trying...

I wonder how hard it will be to convince Subaru to do the above "under warranty". I bet they will tellme that it's not covered under my extended, Subaru Assured warranty too...

My car is booked in for a 50k service at STechnic in a few weeks. Might pm Dougie and see how much he will charge to do it.
Can of wd40, nozzle extender, win?

teejay , the squeak/noise is actually inside the bellhousing, although it does sound like its coming from the pedal, you have to actually pull the box out, grease the nosecone, and refit

Will get mine done at the next service. Starting to get annoying considering I do 700km a week mostly in stop start traffic.

I only noticed mine today after reading this thread. Never heard it because I have my stereo on all the time. Might have to leave it off at the beginning of journeys so I can listen out for my car falling apart.

win!

i took the car to michael at melville subaru service centre.

he did show me that the pedal is heavier than a brand new car, i said, if we get into enough cars ill show you a wrx with a heavier clutch without a worn pedal. my argument was that the clutch being a consumable part should wear out faster than the pedal itself, there is still life left in the clutch.

he made a formal recommendation that the clutch is replaced at the same time, which i declined, he still agreed to replace the clutch pedal under warranty and had one in stock. he offered to do it straight away, 4 hours later im driving away with a new pedal.

it was STechnic that identified the problem and suggested i have a crack at getting it replaced under warranty. my car is under the subaru 5 year warranty, not sure if thats what you have.
