Default Keypad/immobiliser fault

Hey guys!
Ok, so I don't know what I've done, (put it in a valet mode) or it's got a fault, but the car's immobiliser keypad doesn't allow me to enter my code in after unlocking and turning the ignition on in my 03 WRX. I can start the car without entering the code. The engine check light stays on the whole time when driving it to - car doesn't stall and cut out either... My alarm still seems to arm when locked... I notice the key pad use to light up on different numbers randomly when locked. Now all the key pad is lit up when locked/unlocked... Has anyone else had these same problems??? Would disconnecting the battery help??? Or shall I call the dealership to sort it??? Makes me nervous when ya can just start the car without the code.... BIG GRRRR!!! Please help....

When you put the key in to the on position does #1 light up by itself?
If it does you have put in in Valet mode (somehow) and will have 9 (I think?) maybe 10 starts without the code, before it comes out of valet mode and then your alarm system should be back to normal.

The above applies if its a Brant you are having issue with.

Not sure about the CEL light though, sorry.

The keypad may have gone into "manaul immobilisation" mode. Search for the
manual to the brant and read about how to put it back into automatic immobilisation
mode.
