Exclamation Airbag possible fault question...

My friend sharee drives a MY10 wrx, she had an accident the other day and hit a car on a roundabout doing about 30kmph. She said she braked at about the same moment of impact, she also said that her car hit the other at 2 different angles as it had spun around on the wet road.

My question is how hard do you need to hit or how fast before the airbag goes off? She is very concernd maybe they were not functioning correctly??

Does anyone know or had experience with airbags?

Airbag system has inertia sensors & a computer.

They will not deploy if basically the airbag will do more harm than the impact itself.

P.s. if the airbags had deployed there's a good chance the car would have been written off as uneconomical to repair.

My 07 wrx got hit while I was stationary and the girl that hit me was doing 90kmph, all my airbags went off on the passengers side. That was a side impact to the b pillar on the passengers side.

Wait for one of the panel beaters here to chime in, I'm not sure.

It's going to depend of if it needs a rad support or not.

I was on the drivers side and I was badly injured... well bad whiplash and the seatbelt cut into my neck.

Zarb's panel shop in ossie park were awesome, it got towed there and they wrote it off immediately.
