Are you talking about the exhaust manifold or intake manifold? You definitely don't want the exhaust manifold and I'm not sure how restrictive the intake manifold is but I'm sure it's good enough for your current power.

I supercharged my 98 RX Impreza, but back then it was a black art (ie not a V8 commonwhore or falcoon) and most of my stuff was custom made and that = BIG$. I had a custom exhaust manifold fabricated running down to a 3" exhaust with a high flow 3" cat - at the time they simply didnt exist. I used the stock intake manifold - it was deemed to be OK for the power levels I was achieving. I'm pretty sure you can get pre-fabbed UEL headers for the N/A Imprezas now.

I would get a FMIC personally, you can stealth mount it and maintain the sleeper approach. Push the power (up the boost) and you'll find clutches and gearboxes getting chewed up and the need to up the game to forged internals - I ended up tracking down an STi wreck from Japan (decapitated the roof so all the running gear was untouched) and tranfered over the gearbox, brakes, diffs etc. Ended up costing me a fortune, should have just bought a WRX in the end! But it was unique at the time. At the final tune, it was running around 165kw atw - back in '99 that was a beast! Last I heard the third owner wrapped it round a tree many years ago.......shame, I loved that car.

ditto, also check air temps to see if the intercooler is really going to make any difference.

for the low boost and limited power levels, i would not bother with any coolers.

unless you have better heads/block then the NA stuff that is factory fitted that is.

Just get some of that red crinkle paint from an auto store to jazz up your manifold. It will look great and will be really cheap.
