ive never really heard of them becoming 'sticky' theres a fair bit of spring pressure in them to operate a simple lever. they usually fail when the diaphragm gets a hole & so then the gate doesnt open & you get overboost.

you can test it by hooking up a bike pump to it & see if it holds pressure & opens the gate

I had a similar issue but mine wasn't boosting over 5psi. I went to allstar and they put in a turbosmart manual boost controller and issue solved. From what I've heard, the boost tee is recommended as a temporary fix only due to boost spiking or something. I'm just running 1bar and I haven't noticed any boost spiking or inconsistencies in boost so its working pretty well. Give that a go bud

Tempting and yes that would fix that problem if it's the factory boost solenoid. But I've sworn to myself that I won't go down that path again, "Manual boost controllers" They gave me non stop problems on my GC8 and even my Legacy had issues back in the day when I used one.

If its the factory controller I'll get I a EBC and probably do my Turbo/ECU upgrade in a few months time.

If its the TD04 then hey.. Guess I'll be doing the above upgrade a little sooner than expected.

That's fair enough. My boost solenoid was fine. I had it replaced just in case bit it made no difference so we put in the boost tee which solved the issue. You can put in an ebc to see if it works. If you're planning to get one anyways then may as well give it a shot

Took your advise and it's now holding a dead flat 6/7psi when I drive the car.

So this confirms that the TD04 is ok and the boost controller or vacuum lines could be causing this problem.

Alberts in Kelmscot sorted the Alarm out this morning, got a nice new Autowatch system now. damn happy with the service I got from them.

Can finally start sorting this issues out now.

Yes the Bugeye has a Cat in the up pipe, will be removed when my new turbo is fitted.

Not so sure this is the problem however as it's running perfectly fine when it's only using waste gate pressure, holding a dead flat 7psi till redline etc but when the Oem controller is hooked up it's spiking and dipping all over the place.

If the cat was stuffed in the up pipe I'm sure it would be noticeable even at 7psi.

Correct me if I'm wrong..

You are correct, Stuffed cat in U/P = restricted boost or damaged turbo, not erratic boost.
