I've been wondering this same thing lately. Car is getting lowered on Friday, Not 100% sure how low to go, though i think wheel scrubbing will be a major limiting factor.

Aftermarket Front lip sits approx 130/140mm off the ground and that already scrapes on driveways :/

You want ~1/2 inch drop (or ~13mm). Coilovers imo would be a waste of money for a such a minimal drop.

RaceComp Engineering black springs = 15mm front drop, 10mm rear drop + slightly increased spring rates. You get the drop you want without sacrificing much (if any) ride quality.

If you are definitely after coilovers for the height adjustment stay away from Pedders and grab a set of HSD HR's. Good price and plenty of adjustability for what you need. I can't comment on the ride as I dont use them personally but many members can vouch for them (price/quality/comfort/performance/etc).

I'm running the HSD HRs also and would definitely recommend them.

I have an 06 STI on STD R3's with rear camber tops - no complaints.

I think the R3's are on a similar level to the HR's in terms of quality and price, don't think you can go wrong with either.

Both are probably made in the same factory hidden deep with the Shoalin Wu Tang region of China.
