VF30 was the original 02STI turbo. This was improved and became the VF34 on the Spec-C variant. This was then improved to become the VF43 on the 2.5L 06 STI. The 2.5L STI in 08 had a once again improved variant, the VF48.

Everyone raves about the VF34 because they are a well proven package. Personally I used a VF48, its newer technology and all signs pointed to it being a better turbo. That said, it is designed for use on a 2.5L as opposed to the 2.0L the VF35/35 etc were used on.

Here is a tuner in SA with the stock VF48
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/general-...astest-sa.html

you'll see a graph in there of mine pushing 300+hp and 380nm on a 2L with lame cams.

Holy fuck, you must have a very talented tuner( not to mention Iv read motec is the best)

ATM I'm about to get a verso tune done to my 06 wrx with a 3 inch turbo back / walbro fuel pump

I'm want around 340nm on this tune and 200whp running the stock TD04 at about 14 psi

Been considering a skyline actually they seem to lay down alot of wheel power, my mates bought the new GTR and its un-fucking-real! i couldnt justy spending them sort of dollars on a car but, i mean come on 170 grand is half a house. how ever the earlier models are pretty cheap and popular enough that theres a good market for preformance parts at reasonable prices.

But for now im taking Ricks advice the stock TD04/TBE and tune will give me plenty of torque and alitle more power to have fun without engine damage and the suspension/sways will improve my track handling without stress over the cars componets

That wraps up this thred , thanks guys its been good info and good opinions
