More torque required...yes im a torque whore.
Lads,
As you know I've had the TD05-18G on my car for a while now. Initially it had a cold air intake but I switched back to the air box about 2 months ago and lost 10Nm of torque (initally was 226kw/375Nm). Car currently makes 228kw/365Nm. Doesn't exactly pull hard (at least from the drivers seat), it's just very smooth once past 3000rpm (makes ~330Nm @ 6300rpm) and goes okay, just feels sluggish. The TD04 + Butler TBE made 153kw/400Nm (but it made bugger all torque after 4000rpm...under 200Nm @ redline) but it felt awesome when it did hit. I'm after more torque and the only things I can think of are reinstalling the CAI and doing a set of UEL headers (ultrex headers) + retune in search of that magic 400Nm mark again. Reason I ask is plenty of cars on here recently are hitting that on stock VF52's, Dave's Foz is hitting 420Nm with an 18G as well. Any suggestions, thoughts? Cheers, Shane.
