That is true done everything you mentioned Ross and that is with stock ecu tuned by Allstar and link ecu tuned by Leigh Hynes and no extra gains. Will be going bigger turbo and see what happens then

Rossco...what part of my post did you not read right? Its not my logic...call Asg and argue it out....instead of just shitting through your mouth Rosssccooooooooo
Post isnt about turbos, its about cai...that dyno chart was with a cai or stock box....if stock box then matches exactly what tuner said, and if without it also matches as its big hp!

Check out AEM CAI. They have proven results on their website that there is an increase in power over stock box on a stock 04 WRX. I believe someone from here bought an AEM CAI for their GR WRX and tuned just for that and saw an increase as well. Check out Evo R's tuning thread and check out the last few pages and you should see it.

I really don't see how upgrading your airbox does anything other then change your engine bay cosmetically. It's still taking in air, it's not substantially colder or larger a larger quantity so the gains would be next to nothing.
You'll get more gains tuning on a sub 20 degree day as opposed to a +35 day.

My point was about 'Bolt on turbo's' specifically - as a rebuttal to what YOU posted - I responded because you obviously have no fucking idea about them. Well done though - at least this time you haven't gone back to Ninja edit your original post(s) to remove what you were called out on and try to unretard yourself. 99% of what you post is hear-say or misinterpreted information - you have been called out on it numerous times by numerous people.

I've always wondered about this topic of is it more effective. Shorter/straighter intake should in theory be more responsive at least if you've ever tried breathing through a long straw. when some seem to draw from inside the engine bay you must wonder how 'cold' the air really is, some styles do draw from outside but so does the stock box. I'm leaning towards just butchering the resonance chamber off the stick intake for a bit if extra pachoo factor. In theory this leaves another hole for air to flow into the filter and onwards. My 2 Bob, not an engineer or physics professor but tuners say it's true just call them for a random argument
