How do you know your car isn't a potato? I have been in this exact same boat mate and (at a guess) it is the same workshop/tuner. If I am guessing correctly, said tuner won't be leaning on your car too heavily. He tunes with safety and reliability in mind and as stated the result will be a much smoother delivery in power and in all the right places.

Also you have peak torque/360nm at 3,500rpm. 'the fuck are you complaining about?!

You can compare how big your cock is with torque

If you're not happy with output, the way it feels or the answers given to you when you speak to said garage on Monday, do what other people have done in this situation - take it to Evo-R for more paper horsepower.

Trolley is Troll, not a tuner. He would say 30PSI is safe... For an actual answer you can take on-board speak to your tuner (like it has been suggested throughout)

LOL I wouldn't do that

Dan, I will say it again - not every car is the same. 18psi "should be fine" but whether or not your car can actually tolerate 18psi is a different story. 18psi "should have been fine" for my '08 but it only liked 17...

If Sean has tuned it to 16.7~ PSI, then 16.7~ PSI is safe

i think OP has a point about power output not being what it should be though...

his STI supposedly has 221kw at flywheel from factory. if he's gotten 178kw at the wheels after an exhaust and tune then it kinda feels like he hasn't gained anything from stock which would be odd IMHO.

i'm inclined to go with trolley's potato theory
