+1 for hc800. They r pretty quite, but lots of dust.

While we r on that topic, Brett. Ad08 for our wheel size, 265/35/18, is about $200 each now from wheel world. They custom confiscated stock, sold back to local dealers, dirt cheap.

Ouch. That is cheap. If I wasn't splashing out on engine builds I would be all over that.

Down to the last few bits and pieces I think. Cam belt and tensioner kit, better 3 inch inlet clamp and some cleaning fluid just in case there is oil in the TMIC.

Default Ringland anyone?

I have posted this in a different thread also but thought that I would add it here also to keep complete.

Reviving this thread as it is closely related to the grief that I am forecasting this weekend.....

I have to fit a Mamba GTX3076R with a 3 inch inlet as well as an AVO 3 inch silicone inlet hose.

Luckily one of the guys in pwrx gave me a heads up of the dramas that he had experienced last weekend with the same turbo. Many thanks.

The turbo inlet is so close to the tgv that even with the stepper motors deleted the amount of space is absolutely minimal.

Before I die grind my Zerolift nylon tgv inlets I would like to check if there is any room to be made or is it possible to aim the centreline of the turbo away from the TGVs towards the centre of the bonnet. I would imagine that any movement of the turbo will have flow on issues to the down pipe and turbo outlet hose etc.

What have people done to overcome this issue without going rotated?

Here is the issue on another users car with the same turbo.

This is after he has deleted the TGVs and ground out non essential bulk. This will differ slightly to my car as I will be using the Zerolift nylon TGVs and an avo inlet hose which has a bigger kink compared to the mambo inlet hose. The example in the pic above also has a phenolic spacer to lift the intake which provides some added space.

I am planning to grind my tgv like this pic and keep the exhaust up-pipe to turbo flange loose to allow as much twist as possible. I doubt this will make much difference but every little gain will help.

I have been reading anything I can find on the topic of making the turbo fit with the least amount of modification.

Seems like the main trick, apart from tgv deletes, is to keep the up pipe bolts and clamp loose until everything is in place and then tighten.

Fingers crossed it works.

You could also have 5-10 mm machined off the compressor housing that would give you the clearance required. I've seen this done plenty of times.

That has crossed my mind as even a hacksaw would make short work of it.

I am going to test fit first with a loose up pipe before I modify either the TGVs or the compressor inlet.
